Membership

We invite you to get involved in TapRoot CLT to whatever degree you are able. All levels of engagement are essential to running a healthy and effective organization. Some members may only want to vote once a year, while others will feel inspired to join the board and help steer the organization.

All paid community and business memberships are tax deductible. While membership dues directly support the operations of the organization, we understand that this could be prohibitive to some individuals who otherwise would like to get involved with TapRoot. If you would like to pursue a membership waiver, please email info@taprootclt.org.

Theory

The movement for permanently affordable housing should not wait for elected officials to champion the cause, it must be led and demanded by everyday people.

Action

  • A strong TapRoot membership is indispensable to the CLT’s success in bringing structural change to housing in our community.
  • By becoming a member, you will join a dynamic network of housing advocates pioneering a new way to approach housing, land, and community empowerment.

Rights

  • All members have voting rights, except those at the Sponsor and Business levels, enabling direct, democratic decision making and to elect representatives to the board of directors at the annual membership meeting.
  • All members are eligible to represent their community’s interests by joining special committees or by election to the board of directors.
